A Pathfinder Bounty designed for 1st-level characters.
On a recent trip across the trade routes of the Golden Road, a merchant was robbed and her beloved family heirloom—a puzzle box—stolen. The PCs will have to keep their wits about as they head into the desert to unravel the riddle of what happened and recover the missing antique.

A nice hook, a nice twist with the Sphinx not being a plausible combat enemy. The combat was easy, but I did tweak it for a party of 3 (using the "weak" rules) so I can't blame the scenario for it.
Overall I found it enjoyable to both play and GM, and appreciated the twist with the riddle at the end. The desert fight felt a bit too easy - as in, it went way too quickly - with only four players and a little more balanced with six (irrespective of whether I was playing or GMing), but maybe party composition affected that. Hard to tell.
I prefer the quest format, after 4 bounties. But this one is good and has a nice twist to it. Ver enjoyable experience for both players and GM.
good job!
I love how this deviates from the formula of prior bounties. The skill challenge section is very enjoyable.
The combat is unexpected, and left me unsure how the rest of the bounty would play out. I'm told there's a factor we didn't reach (due to well-suited party) that makes sure party composition won't inflate the difficulty excessively.
As a final note, the riddle the author wrote for this is excellent and thematically appropriate.

This looks really cool - congrats, Hmm!
Side note. I'd not run across the term "Pathfinder Bounty" before - I thought I had all the "scenarios" and therefore everything that existed, due to my subscriber settings. So I clicked through to Bounty #1 and saw the explanation in the discussion thread. And I'm really glad to learn these intro-to-new-players encounters exist. (I don't actually play PFS, but I have in the past run non-PFS intro games at my FLGS for new players.)
So, recommendation to Paizo, could you either include a quick definition of the term on the descriptions of these products, or else link a definition of "Pathfinder Bounty" to the words "A Pathfinder Bounty designed for Level 1."
